Do your days keep getting away from you?
Lately, I’ve been sitting with a familiar pattern I see in my coaching work and have recognized in my own life as well.
So many thoughtful, capable women tell me the same thing in different ways: I care deeply about how I want to live, but somehow my days keep getting away from me.
I’ve learned that this doesn’t happen because we don’t care. It happens because we don’t pause long enough to choose.
That’s why I’m such a believer in intentional weekly planning as a way to live with more clarity, calm, and agency.
In my Everyday Yellow Guide to Planning Your Week, I teach a simple five-step practice that helps you enter the week grounded and prepared.
Here’s a snapshot of the approach:
Set aside time for weekly planning - Choose a consistent time each week and protect it. This becomes a grounding ritual that helps you begin the week with clarity instead of chaos.
Reflect on the previous week - Pause before moving forward. Notice what worked, what didn't, what brought joy, and what you learned.
Celebrate and savor successes - Take time to acknowledge what you did well and the strengths you used. This builds self-trust and momentum.
Identify your priorities for the upcoming week - Look ahead and name what truly matters. Focus on a few meaningful priorities and consider how you want to feel and show up.
Schedule time for your priorities and personal commitments - Put the things that matter, work, rest, relationships, and joy, directly onto your calendar, while leaving room for rest and flexibility. Make time for deep, focused work on your most important projects.
I’ve been planning my weeks this way for years, and over time, its have changed my life and the lives of my clients.
If you’re a woman of color who is longing for community and craving a truly transformative experience, I want you to know there is a space being created with you in mind.
