Reclaim Your 2020 Vision!

One of the funniest memes I’ve seen recently is the following:

Dear 2020,

None of this sh*t was on my vision board.

When I saw it I chuckled because it was so simple and resonant. One New Years’ Eve, 2019, none of us expected to be sheltering in place during a worldwide pandemic at the end of the first quarter 2020.

A lot has changed in the last month.

We have all grappled with how to “be” in these times and there is a different answer for each of us. And the answer may be different depending on the day.

For the first couple weeks of this, though I was going through the motions, I had lost sight of my goals and long-term vision.

However, one thing that remained constant was my daily meditation practice.

On my altar I have a copy of my long-term vision. It is three pages of narrative that describe my future life over three days, including my Core Desired Feelings based on Danielle LaPorte’s book by the same name.

One day as I was meditating, I decided to pick up my vision. When I read it, I realized that none of it had changed. None of it. That was a simple, but profound realization for me.

That inspired me to finally begin working on my second quarter goals.

I finished my goals and included this at the top:

"Love Note of Compassion and Grace: You created these goals in a period of high motivation, inspiration and clarity in the midst of a global pandemic. It is a lot, but it was important to you to get it all down. You are going to do your absolute best, recognizing that there will be ups and downs. You will continue to ride the waves. Some of these things may carry over into Q3, and that’s okay. Remember that your health and wellness will always come first. I am proud of you and I believe in you."

This whole process inspired me to create a workshop. If you are struggling to reclaim your 2020 vision, it might just give you the boost you need.

If you need support creating goals for yourself with compassion and grace, lets’ talk. I’d love to hear your story and see how I can help.
