Are You Making Enough Room for Joy in Your Life?

On Wednesday, October 28, we gathered virtually to celebrate a milestone that means so much to me: Everyday Yellow® is officially a registered trademark!

What began as a personal philosophy about choosing joy, cultivating ease, and living with intention has grown into a community, a body of work, and a brand that continues to evolve.

To everyone who joined us, thank you! Your presence, energy, reflections, and willingness to share made the evening special. And to everyone who has been part of this journey—as a coaching client, workshop participant, podcast guest or listener, newsletter reader, collaborator, friend, or cheerleader—I am deeply grateful.

During our celebration, I shared a simple philosophy: Living Everyday Yellow means finding joy in every single day, whether it's joy we intentionally create or joy we take the time to notice.

We explored four practices to help make that happen:

1. Identify Your Yellow Time

Yellow Time is time spent doing things that bring you joy. Make three lists of what brings you joy in these areas: Fun & Play, Ease & Peace, and Connection.

2. Schedule Your Joy

Put Yellow Time on your calendar, just as you would any other important commitment. I use yellow on my calendar to make time for fun, rest, and connection.

3. Savor Joyful Moments

Savoring is a positive psychology practice that helps us notice, appreciate, and extend positive experiences. Try jotting down a joyful moment at the end of the day, sharing it with someone, or revisiting happy memories through photos.

4. Celebrate Your Wins

Take time to acknowledge your accomplishments, progress, and efforts. Big or small, your wins deserve celebrating!

The beauty of these practices is their simplicity. Small, intentional choices can help us experience more joy and ease in our everyday lives.

As I reflect on this celebration, I'm feeling an abundance of gratitude.

I'm grateful for the people who believed in my vision before it had a name, for those who have trusted me to support them on their journeys, and for this growing community of people who believe that joy, ease, connection, and well-being deserve a central place in our lives.

My invitation to you this week: Choose one small commitment to bring more yellow into your life. Schedule something fun, savor a joyful moment, or celebrate a recent win.

Here's to creating more joy, noticing more joy, and savoring more joy—every single day!
